What to Know About

Comfort Bags

Comfort Bags are thoughtfully designed in collaboration with Children’s Hospital volunteer coordinators, Child Life Specialists, and patients to provide practical essentials and meaningful support for families navigating medical challenges and hospital stays.

We invite your group to join us in creating Comfort Bags using the list below. If you’re in Northern Virginia, we can arrange a convenient drop-off. If you’re elsewhere, we’ll help connect you with a children’s hospital in your area that could use your support.

Dear Friend,

This Comfort Bag was lovingly prepared just for you by volunteers who care and wish the very best for you and your family. Inside, you’ll find a few essentials, some small comforts, and a lot of hope.

We’ve included a notebook and pen—feel free to use them to jot down your thoughts, questions, worries, dreams, or needs. Writing can be a helpful way to make sense of where you are emotionally, and to share your heart with those who care.

Please know that you are not alone—this bag is a reminder that people are thinking of you and cheering you on through this time.

With care and hope,
Team Olive
