Olive's Journey
Olive was born in 2008 with a complex set of congenital heart defects called Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. She was immediately transferred by medivac from Savannah Memorial Hospital to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta, where she spent months undergoing her first open-heart surgery and numerous life-saving procedures.
Since then, Olive has continued her journey with additional open-heart surgeries (4 to date), catheter procedures (7 to date), and countless scans, tests, and treatments. Over the years, she has been a patient at four different children’s hospitals.
Out of her experiences, Olive developed Comfort Bags—a way to channel her energy outward, transforming difficult moments into acts of service and hope for other children and families facing hospital stays.
She has shared her own story with school and civic groups, inviting people to learn more about complex medical conditions and the small acts of kindness that can make a big difference for others.
